Media Advocacy on Women’s Reproductive Rights in Enugu State

The aim of this project is to sensitize Women in Rural and Urban Areas of Enugu State on their Reproductive Rights.

Modern trends show a significant interest in the improved implementation of Economic and Social Rights and specifically in relation to Women’s Reproductive Rights (WRR). WINET believes that there is an urgent need to highlight the issue of WRR using several media tools in disseminating the information, because if the campaign is vigorously pursued it will increase women’s knowledge of their reproductive rights, impact positively on the Socio- Economic condition of women in Enugu State and enhance their lifespan.
In 2005, Women Information Network (WINET), a media focused, independent, non-governmental organization secured a three-year grant from European Union (EU) to carry out a media advocacy project on Women’s Reproductive Rights in Enugu State.
